Description of supervision approach:
My aim as a supervisor to provide a nourishing, safe and peaceful space for supervisees to be able to open up, share and reflect on the issues which they are facing within their professional role. For them to move into a deeper space of reflection and learning about their own skills and abilities in order to be the best they can be in their role. I hope that my supervision impacts the whole of their wellbeing relationally and clinically, to support and facilitate their own practice and development. I firmly believe that you will get out of supervision what you put in and I endeavour to enable my supervisees to feel comfortable to be encouraged and challenged. I am an honest, open and trustworthy supervisor who cares about the people I supervise. I offer independent professional (non-managerial) supervision for speech and language therapists and related professions, in accordance with the HCPC guidelines. My experience as a supervisor encompasses providing professional and managerial supervision for speech and language therapists from my 10 years in the NHS and educational contexts. Since 2014, I have been working as an independent speech and language therapist and have been providing independent supervision for NHS, education and independent therapists. I participate in regular supervision and undertake 6-weekly supervision sessions to support my clinical caseload and Supervision of Supervision.
